Purple Purpose Project

The Purple Purpose Project: BFCU Stands Up for Alzheimer's Awareness This September

Every September, communities nationwide come together for World Alzheimer's Month — a time to raise awareness, show support, and stand behind the millions of families affected by Alzheimer's disease. This year, BFCU is proud to launch the Purple Purpose Project, a month-long campaign inviting our members, branch visitors, and staff to rally around a cause that touches so many lives,no matter who you are or where you come from.

Here's How to Get Involved:

🟣 Grab a wristband, make a difference.
Stop by any BFCU branch throughout September and make a donation in exchange for a Purple Power Wristband or Purple Purpose Pack — while supplies last. Every dollar raised goes directly to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, the organization behind the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's at New Town in James City County. Your wristband is more than an accessory — it's a conversation starter, a small way to remind our community that support is out there.

🟣 Watch for purple on Fridays.
All September long, BFCU staff will be wearing purple every Friday, paired with jeans, to help keep the conversation going. See purple at your local branch? Ask us about it — we'd love to tell you more about the cause and how you can get involved.

More Than a Month

The Purple Purpose Project is about more than wristbands and purple shirts — it's about showing up for our community and the families navigating life with Alzheimer's. Wear it, wear it proud, and join us in making a difference.

Questions about the Purple Purpose Project? Stop by your local branch or reach out — we'd love to talk with you about how to get involved.
