IDCheck | Enhanced Identity Verification
BFCU is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of your account, no matter where you travel. That’s why we are pleased to announce a new security feature called IDCheck, in collaboration with our partner credit unions in the Shared Branch network. This new feature is part of the updated CO-OP™ Shared Branch network policy.
IDCheck allows for quick and secure identity verification to help protect both our non-member guests and BFCU members who use shared branching while traveling. This measure is designed to enhance the security of your transactions and protect your accounts from fraud.
How it Works:
If you use an out-of-state ID to complete a transaction at a shared branch location, a representative will direct you to scan a QR code with your mobile device camera that launches the IDCheck process.
1. Scan the QR code located in the branch or visit verify.coop.org
2. Select your Credit Union from the drop-down list(BFCU Members select Baylands Family Credit Union).
3. Enter your member number and the last four digits of your social security number.
4. Upload a photo of your ID.
5. Take a selfie
(Tip: Save your validation for an even quicker experience next time!)
6. Show your one-time passcode to the teller (passcode is valid for 20 minutes).
Important Note: If you are unable to verify your identity, your out-of-state transactions may be limited or denied. This policy is in place to help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts.
