As we wrap up another year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've shared together and express my sincere gratitude for your trust and loyalty. 2024 was a year of growth and transformation for our credit union, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of members like you. Throughout the year, we worked tirelessly to enhance our services, improve our offerings, and provide you with the financial tools and resources you need to thrive. From enhancing our mobile app and online banking with CARD CONTROL to introducing our new online financial wellness center, our focus remains on helping members achieve financial goals and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

As we look ahead to 2025, I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities before us. We’re committed to continuing our efforts to bring you more innovative solutions, stronger financial tools, and an even greater member experience. Together, we will embrace new possibilities, and I’m confident that the best is yet to come. On behalf of the entire Baylands Family Credit Union team, thank you for being a part of our community. Financial Wellness

New Tools Available at BFCU

Baylands Family Credit Union is excited to unveil its latest initiative aimed at enhancing members' financial well-being: the BFCU MoneyEDU Online Financial Wellness Center, along with a new, friendly face to inspire the financial well-being journey—Wally Wellness, the credit union’s official financial wellness mascot. This dynamic duo is designed to help members or non-members of all stages of life with valuable tools, educational content and challenges to make managing learning different financial topics engaging and fun.

“We understand that managing finances can be challenging, especially in today’s fast-paced world,” said Teresa Millis, President & CEO of Baylands Family Credit Union. “Our goal is to empower our members and members of the community at large with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their financial future. Whether they’re just starting out, planning for a major purchase, or looking to optimize their long-term savings, this new platform will be an invaluable resource.”

The BFCU MoneyEDU Online Financial Wellness Center is a comprehensive digital platform offering a variety of resources, including budgeting tools, loan calculators, and educational content on topics such as saving, buying a car, retirement ,building credit and more. With interactive tools and easy-to-understand guides, the BFCU MoneyEDU Online Wellness Center is designed to help members take control of their finances, achieve their goals, and build a secure financial future.

To make financial education more fun and approachable, we want to introduce Wally Wellness, a cheerful mascot who wants to inspireeveryone on the path to financial well-being to “Make Every Day Count”. Wally will be a part of social media content, offering helpful tips and help announce Financial Wellness Challenges with special prizes for participants.

Staff Spotlight 

Meet Dana

Meet Dana, our Collateral Insurance Coordinator who joined the Baylands family in May 2024. Dana brings a wealth of experience from work done at various other financial institutions to BFCU. When she’s not busy at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and riding horses. A fun fact about Dana is that she can spin sheep's wool into yarn and create simple crafts. When asked about her role at Baylands, Dana said, “I enjoy assisting members in maintaining accurate and up-to-date vehicle insurance information.” We’re lucky to have Dana on our team!

Meet Ava the 2024 Baylands Bridge to the Dream Scholarship winner. Ava is a graduate of New Kent High School and Bridging Communities Regional Career & Technical Center nursing program. A former instructor described Ava as “a leader and team player” two important attributes for someone focused on a career in the nursing field.
