ID Theft is one of every persons top concerns today and it should be a major concern. ID Theft is one of the fastest growing white-collar crimes in America. This is not a new crime but it has gotten a lot easier as more information is going digitial.

The Federal Trade Commission had 5,137 complaints from Virginia in their Identity Theft Data Clearinghouse. The thieves used the informaiton they collected to commit credit card fraud in 29% of the cases, utilities fraud in 17% of the cases, bank account fraud 17% of the cases and and loan fraud 5% of the cases. This same report lists Virginia as 15th in the nation for ID Theft Fraud cases having 67.2 victims for everyone 100,000 residents.
